Consumer prices in El Salvador increased by 0.29% year-on-year in December 2024, accelerating from a 0.31% decline in November. Although prices rebounded, it was the slowest increase since early 2021, with food prices falling for the third time since July 2021, although at a slower rate (-0.47% vs. ...-0.7% in November), the same as for transport (-1.58% vs. -5.88%), household equipment (-2.18% vs. -2.26%), and communication (-0.39% vs. -0.42%), while housing and utilities prices rose at a faster pace (2.07% vs. 1.78%).
